Construction Site Traffic Cone

We made a traffic cone that blinks red at construction sites, out of wool felt.
There's something endearing about these man-made objects working away so diligently.

Some use a tilt switch that turns on when standing upright and off when knocked over, so the light goes out if it falls.
Others use a reed switch that turns on when a magnet is brought close.
For the LED, we used a “self-flashing LED,” which blinks on its own as soon as it's connected to a battery.
