We made “The Giraffe That Falls Over on Purpose to Get Attention.”
It has a sensor in its neck,
and when a person comes close, it topples over on its own.
It can't get back up by itself.

Someone happened to film it in action, so here's their video.

It's a needy giraffe that thinks falling over will get it some attention.

We made several and lined them up.
Offer a hand and they all topple over at once.

We also made a kit that's easy to assemble.
It's popular at workshops, too!

Materials: felt sheet, microcontroller, infrared distance sensor, servo motor, plywood
